Q220 songs

It has been a season of songs on repeat, which I guess all seasons are for me, really. I read something about how people with anxiety rewatch the same shows because they know what to expect and how it will end and I don’t know if that translates to music, maybe it’s more of an obsessive tendency, but yesterday another writer asked on Twitter whether anyone else listens to the same song on repeat while we construct a story and there was a resounding “yes” response.

Any way, my obsessive tendency was responded to in the car with Brandon saying to me, “this is the only song I’ve heard all day” and then adding, “this is like, our family song, right?”

My boys are beginning to love music like I do: making hobbies around it. I play music from our balcony for them sometimes while they scoot around the courtyard. Brandon commandeers Spotify in the car. In the shower, I blast Queen while he sings. And on one particularly lovely night, he and I sang to each other in my bed and I thought my heart would burst.
