Sometimes it's hard to believe that a year has passed so quickly. Sometimes it feels like it's been more than a year. But either way, to think about my life before Brandon is hard to do. He is my everything now. I have reflected a bit on what I've learned this past year: 1. There's... Continue Reading →
splish splash
This kid would stay in the bath tub all day if you let him. His little fingers and toes get all pruney. He gets excited every time I take him upstairs because he thinks that means it's bath time. I take him out when he has soaked me with his splashing.
Brandon’s 1st birthday
Yesterday was Brandon's 1st birthday party. And I might have gone a little overboard. But he only turns one once. I could talk forever, but since pictures are worth a thousand words, let me give you tens of thousands of words instead:
11 months
Sorry for the absence of Brandon pictures lately. He had a pretty rough home hair cut and although I don't think he's old enough to be vain, his mom is on his behalf. Have to protect his image, you know. We tried the home haircut again last weekend. I had Steve take care of the... Continue Reading →
Work/life balance
Last night I looked at Brandon - at his curious, roaming body. I watched him wriggle and crawl and laugh. He has grown up so fast. Last year he was still in my belly and now he can kind of talk and almost walk. Everything all the other parents have said for years is right... Continue Reading →
ain’t no space wide enough
Look who's peering over furniture at meand climbing the stairs to get to meand occasionally, being still near me, our closeness being what's important.
Nine months old
I haven't posted pictures of the baby lately. He's hardly a baby. Sometimes I look at him and see a three-year old. We lowered his crib and his play pen. He's getting too big on us! He's been eating a lot of real foods. Cheerios, Goldfish crackers, chicken - you name it. He loves grasping... Continue Reading →
bath time
Brandon can sit up in the bathtub now. He puts bath toys in his mouth and plays nicely while I scrub him down and lint floats to the top of the water from between his toes. Such an easy bath time compared to the splashing and flailing that he did while lying down. Won't be long... Continue Reading →
First haircut
I tried giving this little monster a haircut while he was conscious and alert. That was a bust. So I busted a Delilah and cut it off while he was sleeping. I have no idea how barbers cut babies' hair.
Preppy baby
Before raising a child, little baby clothes are so adorable. Shrunken men's clothes in tiny sizes for a little boy makes you want to pinch some baby cheeks and squint your eyes with a creepy smile on. Because you don't have to wrangle your child into it or pull his flailing legs out of it... Continue Reading →
