the gardens

I have lived in Omaha for a decade, and only today did I finally visit Lauritzen Gardens.

When I first lived in Omaha, I was in college, living in the dorms. I would walk to the zoo down tenth street nearly every day. This was on 10th and Bancroft. This have a nostalgic affection for this particular part of South Omaha.

Brandon loves flowers and butterflies. And I didn’t know they were going to have a whole model train town set up amongst the trees. He loved it.

Nothing says fall quite like this sweater of his. I wish I had one like it.

I love when the trees wear so many different colors, instead of their usual monochromatic jumpsuit.

The day didn’t end quite as well as it started – we ended up at the doctor checking out a laceration on his forehead. It’s purple, raised, and bloody, but no stitches and should heal up soon.

These little boys are amazingly resilient and strong. Their mama: not so much. Seeing my baby hurt is worse than any pain I could incur myself.
